Just because we refer to it as 'vanilla' .NET doesn't mean it has to be boring! We work on some incredibly interesting 'vanilla' .NET projects, including a web based system that lines up catalyst experiments to be run on a remote robotic laboratory, Aviva's online insurance portal and scientific buoys at sea that are bristling with environmental sensors. Such is the power of .NET!
Having said that, much of our work can be integrating business applications using .NET MVC web technologies, RESTful web services to connect to other backoffice systems, and service bus. Again, our breadth of experience across so many different areas gives us a leading edge - sometimes a simple message queue we've used on a lightweight system is a better (simpler, more robust and cheaper!) option than the full-scale solution. But generally we find ourselves working on the less mainstream applications - what we like to think of as the 'outside the box' solutions.
Increasingly, we're finding more and more solutions in the cloud, and we now generally choose Azure serverless functions over the more traditional MVP solutions.
